Rutigliano is an ancient centre in Puglia of medieval origin. Inside the old town there is a tower, the only remaining part of a XII century castle, and the Mother church, dedicated to Santa Maria della Colonna.
Near Rutigliano lie the remains of the ancient town, a Roman aqueduct and the Church of San Apollinare, built between the XI and XII century, with an ellipsoidal cupola.
