The territory of Corigliano d'Otranto has an ancient origin, shown by the number of Dolmens, Menhirs and Specchie that can be seen throughout the all area.
Corigliano has some interesting buildings and churches. One of the most important is the De' Monti Castle surrounded by a moat with four round towers and a beautiful richly decorated facade. It was built in the XVI century after the attack of the Turks.
The Mother Church of Corigliano d'Otranto, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, is set-off by a three level bell-tower built in 1465.
Among other churches the Dell'Addolorata Church in neo-Gothic style, the Church Della Madonna delle Grazie (XVII century), the Cappella della Madonna degli Angeli and the Cappella di San Leonardo.
Interesting palaces to see: Palazzo Comi (1755), Palazzo De' Monti (1781) and Palazzo Coia (1600).
