The town of Apricena is part of the Gargano National Park and is famous for its 'Pietra di Apricena' - Stone of Apricena - mainly exported to Japan, China and Germany.
Inside the old town there are some interesting buildings like the Baronial Palace, built on the remains of a castle constructed during the reign of Frederick II, and the Mother Church that houses a late-Romanesque stone relief depicting the Madonna and the Child.
Nearby the remains of Castle Pagano, a fortified town built by Frederick II and colonized by the Saracens, can be seen.
