Acquaviva delle Fonti
Acquaviva delle Fonti takes its name form the large flow of groundwater flowing into the subsoil.
Although the historic centre is of medieval origin many modifications that changed its layout were made in later centuries. Under the Norman domination, a Cathedral and a castle were built.
Points of interest in Acquaviva delle Fonti are the Cathedral, built by Roger III, and the Palazzo del Principe, a magnificent complex of three hundred rooms, which was the fortified residence of the De Mari family during the XVII century.
