Sfilzi nature reserve

The park


The Sfilzi nature reserve is an area located along the slopes of the valley of Carpinosa, upstream the Sfilzi fountain and part of the Gargano national park.

The typical vegetation of this reserve consists of beech trees, especially in the valley, and oak trees, located more on the high hills. There are also other species of trees such as hornbeam, oak, holm oak, linden, elm and laurel.

The wildlife includes roe deer, wild boars, badgers, foxes, wild cats, owls, blackbirds and several species of migratory birds.

The Sfilzi nature reserve is part of the Gargano national park.
