Beaches of Peschici

 

Foce del Varano

Foce del Varano rises on a small island that separates the Varano lake from the Adriatic Sea. It is a small fishing village and a tourist destination thanks to the presence of the lake, the untouched beaches with blue sea and the vast green spaces. Foce del Varano can be reached by taking the SP41 from the SS693 that runs all along the north side of the Gargano promontory. The SP41 also runs through the isle that separates the lake from the sea.

Baia di Peschici

The Baia di Peschici, located just next to the town of Peschici on the north side of the Gargano promontory, is a nice bay with a sandy and wide beach. There are here various organised lido with all the services for bathing form renting of umbrellas ans sun chairs to bars and restaurants. The bay can be easily reached by taking the SS89 seaside road that goes from the town of Rodi Garganico to Peschici. This same road also goes through the deep forests of the Gargano to reach Vieste.

Baia di Procenisco

Baia di Proscenio, located on the north of the Gargano promontory, is a small but charming bay with a 150 meters long beach with fine sand, clean sea and shallow waters. The beach is for the most part free to access and there are no services. Baia di proscenico can be reached by taking the SP52 that goes from Peschici to Vieste, heading to Contrada Valle Scinni. The road to this place will take you to the bay but you will need to walk a bit to get to the beach.

Baia di San Nicola

Baia di San Nicola is one of the most picturesque bays near Peschici with a beautiful beach and clean sea. There are, here, organised lidos with many parts of the beach free to access and use. To get to the beach you need to go through a camping site or use a small side road. Baia di San Nicola can be reached by taking the SP52 that goes from Peschici to Vieste and heading to Contrada Valle Scinni. The road to this place will take you directly to the bay.

Baia di Zaiana

Baia di Zaiana is located on the Gargano promontory in Puglia. The beach inside the bay, enclosed between two ridges of white rocks covered with Mediterranean vegetation and pine trees, is a beautiful one with fine sand and clean blue sea. You can get here via a narrow road that goes down to the coast. The last downhill section must be done on foot from the parking. About half of the beach is served by lidos. Baia di Zaiana can be reached by taking the direction to Contrada Zaiana from the SP52 that goes from Peschici to Vieste.

Baia di Manaccora

Baia di Manaccora is located on the Gargano promontory in Puglia. The beautiful beach inside the bay is mostly covered by organized lidos. There are, however, some free spaces. Along the Manaccora bay, and within walking distance, there is the Grottone of Manaccora, one of the most important archaeological sites of the Bronze age. Baia di Manaccora can be reached both from Contrada Zaiana and Contrada Calalunga roads that can be taken from the SP52 road from Peschici to Vieste.

Baia Calalunga

Baia di Calalunga can be found on the Gargano promontory in Puglia between the Manaccora bay and that of Del Turco, near Peschici. The small but beautiful beach of Calalunga has fine sand and clean sea with shallow waters. There are here services such as bars, restaurants and showers. Half of the beach is free to access and use. Baia di Calalunga can be reached by taking direction to Contrada Calalunga from the SP52 road that goes from the town of Peschici to that of Vieste.

Baia del Turco

Baia del Turco is located on the north-east side of the Gargano promontory. Inside this bay there is a small beach made of white sand. It is usually not crowded even in high season and ideal for families. To get here you have to walk on a small downhill path. The bay is easily reachable by the SP52 that goes from the town of Peschici to Vieste.

Baia del Gusmay

The Baia del Gusmay, so called after a coastal tower located on the east promontory, has a very nice sandy beach and clear blue sea. There are here organised lidos and, within the Gusmay resort, various types of services including bars and restaurants. Located east of the bay there is the coastal tower of Gusmay. The bay can be reached from the SP52 and heading towards the Gusmay resort.

Baia di Manacore

Baia di Manacore is located on the north-east side of the Gargano promontory of Puglia between Peschici and Vieste. Inside the bay a beautiful beach offers services with organised lidos for renting umbrellas and sun beds. Most of these services are provided by a campsite located inland within an area with many green and unspoiled spaces. Baia di Manacore can be reached from the SP52 that goes between the town of Peschici to that of Vieste.

Baia di Sfinale

Inside the Baia di Sfinale, covered with Mediterranean vegetation and a pine forest, there is a long sandy beach with a beautiful blue sea. The beach is served by organised lidos for renting umbrellas and sunbeds and, also, bars and restaurants. On the west side promontory of the bay there is a seaside tower and on the east a 'Trabucco', ancient seaside wood construction used for fishing. Baia di Sfinale can be reached from the SP52 between the town of Peschici and Vieste.
