Baia del Leone

Baia del Leone is located along the south-east part of the Gargano promontory in Puglia. Inside the Del Leone bay, characterized by a high limestone cliff, there is a small beach difficult to access by land. It is a beach with white gravel and high sea levels. Baia del Leone can be reached from the SP53 that runs between the town of Mattinata and that of Vieste.

Cala dell'Aquila

Cala dell'Aquila is located along the coast on the south-east side of the Gargano promontory. Inside Cala dell'Aquila there is a beach of gravel not easily accessible. It is a very charming area with high cliffs and several ravines covered with Mediterranean vegetation and pine trees. Because of the high cliffs it has a sun exposure only until early afternoon. Cala dell'Aquila can be reached from the SP53 that runs along the coast from the town of Vieste to that of Mattinata.

Cala dei Morti

Cala dei Morti is located on the south-east side of the Gargano promontory, in Puglia, between the town of Vieste and that of Mattinata. The beach located inside Cala dei Morti is only accessible from the sea. This small beach is made of fine gravel with a deep clean sea. Cala dei Morti can be reached from the SP53 that runs along the south-east coast of the Gargano promontory.

Baia delle Zagare

Zagare Bay is one of the most famous and most beautiful of the Gargano. There are here two long beaches separated by two stacks located in the sea called 'Arco di Diomede' and 'Le Forbici'. The beach on the north is organized with umbrellas and chairs in lower part while, the upper part of the beach is free to access and use. The beach on the south can only be accessed by a daily pass and by using a staircase along the cliffs. Both beaches are pebbly, of relatively low depths and crystal clear sea. Baia delle Zagare can be reached from the SP53 that runs along the south coast of the Gargano between Vieste and Mattinata.

Cala della Pipa

Cala della Pipa, located on the south-east side of the Gargano in Puglia, takes its name from a cliff located in the bay which has a shape of a pipe. There is here a small beach with mixed gravel which, like many other beaches in this part of the Gargano, gets shaded in the afternoon due to the high cliffs. Cala della Pipa is easily reached from the SP53 that runs from the town of Vieste to that of mattinata.

Cala Grottone del Pescatore

Cala Grottone del Pescatore, located along the south coast of the Gargano, near the town of Mattinata, is named after a natural cave beneath which lies a small beach. The beach is of mixed gravel kind and it is only accessible from the sea. Cala Grottone del Pescatore can be reached from the SP53 that runs along the coast of the Gargano beteween Vieste and Mattinata.

Cala della Cattedrale

Cala della Catterale is located on the south-east side of the Gargano in Puglia. Inside the Cala della Cattedrale there are two very beautiful and characteristic beaches not reachable by land. These beaches are sunny only in the morning due to the high cliffs and the fact that they face south. Cala della Cattedrale can be reached from the SP53 that goes from the town of Vieste to that of Mattinata along the coast of the Gargano.

Cala di Punta dell'Ago

Cala di Punta dell'Ago is located on the south side of the Gargano. There is here a small beach accessible only from the sea. The bay is named after a small needle-shaped cliff located just in front of the beach. Cala di Punta dell'Ago can be reached from the SP53 that runs along the south part of the Gargano coast from Vieste to Mattinata.

Cala del Pescecane is located along the south coast on the Gargano promontory of Puglia. Inside Cala del Pescecane there is a beach accessible only from the sea. Cala del Fico is located along the south coast of the Gargano promontory of Puglia. Like other bays in this part of the coast, Cala del Fico is accessible only from the sea. There is here a small beach and, nearby, some enchanting small caves.

Spiaggia di Mattinatella

Mattinatella is a beautiful beach located on the south part of the Gargano promontory near Mattinata. Mattinatella beach, also called 'Acqua delle Rose', has two beaches separated by a marine spear. The beach on the north of the spear is not accessible by land and has retained its natural beauty but does not provide services. The southern one provides lido services with rentals of umbrellas and sun chairs. There are also services of bar, restaurants and parking. Mattinatella beach can be reached form the SP53 that runs on the south part of the Gargano. You will need to take direction for 'Contrada Mattinatella' to get directly to the beach.

Baia delle Pietre Nere

Baia delle Pietre Nere is located on the south part of the Gargano promontory of Puglia. In this bay there are three small beaches accessible only from the sea. The name of the bay comes from the dark colouration of some nearby rocks. Baia delle Pietre nere can be reached from the SP53 that runs along the south coast of the Gargano.

Baia dei Gabbiani is located south of the Gargano promontory in Puglia. The three beaches inside this bay have gravel sand and crystal clear sea. They all face south therefore are sunny only until early afternoon. They are accessible only from the sea.

Valle delle Sirene

Valle delle Sirene is located south of the Gargano promontory near the town of Mattinata. In the Valle delle Sirene there is a small pebble beach difficult to access by land. Thanks to a large spear that extends into the sea the beach is protected from the north winds but is sunny only until early afternoon.

Baia Rossa

Baia Rossa is located on the south of the Gargano promontory near the town of Mattinata in Puglia. The small beach located in this bay, which takes its name from the red colour of the cliff, is of the gravel kind and accessible only from the sea. This is a little piece of paradise nestled between two rocky spears that stretch into the crystal blue sea.

Pannucid is located along the south coast of the Gargano promontory next to the town of Mattinata. It is a very special and unique area that can be reached and admired only from the sea.

Pontone Rotondo is located near Mattinata along the south coast of the Gargano in Puglia. Along this coast, also known as 'Tunno', there are some small beaches sheltered from the wind by high limestone cliffs. They can be reached by land but it is recommended to access them only from the sea. Pontone Rotondo can be reached from the SP53 that goes from Mattinata to Vieste along the south coast of the Gargano.

Tor di Lupo

Tor di Lupo is located on the south part of the Gargano promontory near the town of Mattinata. Tor di Lupo is a long beach with lidos that offer services such as rental of umbrellas and sun chairs. Also bar and parking. For the presence of a large outcrop, on the north side, the beach is protected from the north winds. Immediately after it there is a small port. Tor di Lupo can be easily reached from the SP53 that goes from Mattinata to Vieste along the south coast of the Gargano.

Baia di Mattinata

Baia di Mattinata is a beautiful bay located along the coast of the town of Mattinata on the Gargano promontory, Inside Mattinata bay there is a long beach well served with a variety of services including bars, restaurants and parking. On the Monte Saraceno, just south of the beach, there are various necropolis excavated in the rock dating back to the bronze age. Baia di Mattinata can be reached from the SS89 Garganica that runs just near the town of Mattinata.
