Gargano coast from Vieste - Pizzomunno beach - to Baia delle Zagare

Vieste to Zagare bay

This stretch of coast of the Gargano that heads south from Vieste to the Zagare bay, is considered among the best and most beautiful thanks to the characteristic white high limestone cliffs with long sandy beaches that create incredibly wonderful landscapes.

This coastline begins with the beach of Pizzimunno, just south of Vieste, famous for the limestone monolith, to the equally famous and beautiful beach of the Zagare bay. There are here, also, some gorgeous coastal caves accessible only from the sea.

Vieste

Vieste is a medieval town with narrow streets and whitewashed houses typical of this part of south Italy. It is a charming town with a tower located at Punta San Francesco and a lighthouse that looks out from the S. Croce cliff. The town also has a castle built by Frederick II in 1240.
